Hosted the International Labour Organization (ILO) team at BAT Bangladesh Future-Fit Apprentice Academy to showcase BAT’s work in human resource development and apprenticeship-based skill building. The visit focused on BAT’s unique apprenticeship programme, which is designed to create a strong talent pipeline while supporting the national demand for skilled workers across industries. The discussion highlighted the programme’s practical learning approach, combining on-the-job training, classroom learning, transferable skills development, machine component training, productivity-focused metrics, and future placement support. With over 200 graduates and a strong emphasis on problem-solving, leadership, and employability, the initiative reflects how private sector-led apprenticeship models can contribute to workforce development in Bangladesh. The visit created a valuable opportunity to exchange insights with the ILO team and explore possibilities for broader collaboration in building a quality, demand-driven, and future-ready skilled workforce for the nation.
